About 400 Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and their Leaders paraded through the streets of Ledbury on Sunday 26th April 2009 to mark St George’s Day. The Scouts were made up of Scout Groups and Explorer Scout Units from across the Malverns District including Colwall, Leigh Sinton, Upton-upon-Severn, Malvern, Malvern Link, and Malvern Wells, as well as Ledbury itself.

Organiser and leader of 1st Colwall Scouts Ken Lloyd said: “It was a great success. The Ledbury people were very pleased at the participation of the scouts in their activities and we were very pleased with the welcome we had from Ledbury.”
The parade was lead by the Upton Youth Band. It started at St Katherine’s car park and made its way through town and up Church Street to St Michael and All Angels Church, where the Rev Melanie Horton from Colwall lead the service., which included a re-dedication of law and promises. After the service, the Scouts paraded back to the High Street where the salute was taken opposite the Market House, watched by a large crowd.
Organisation of the parade passes form group to group each year and will be arranged by 1st Ledbury on 25th April 2010.
